unit 1 examines the qualities , role and responsibilties of both teachers and students in a classroom .I learnt that a good teacher should be kind and patients, really love teaching , lively and entertaining etc .The role of the teacher are as follow : manager or controller , organizer, assessor ,prompter , participant tutor ,resource or facilitator etc .So the above roles depend on the activity and what the teacher wish the students to achieve . Also , A good learner should have the following characteristics: A willingness to listen to the language ,a desire to experiment with the language ,a willingness to ask questions ,a desire to learn etc.I also learnt the differences between young learners and adult learners under the following : Age ,motivation ,nervouseness ,language awareness ,learning experience ,Behaviour problems ,life experience, culuture and first language .The distinction between different levels of ability in the English language clearly have to be made and it can commomly be broken down into : beginners ,Elementary ,low/ pre-intermediate ,intermediate ,upper intermediate ,and Advanced .Finally , some people might decide to attend English lessons because they want to improve their grades at school ,for future career ,for travel purposes ,out of interest in Language ,to study or live in ana English speaking country etc .
