Unit nine covers the importance and structures of lesson planning for teachers, more specifically for the ESA method of teaching English. I felt this unit explained in a detailed manner how the lesson plans should be structured. Lesson plans need to be fully defined but not too rigid in order to be a flexible with unexpected circumstances. I feel this can be used for other subjects not only for teaching a language. One time I had to make a lesson plan based on a Shakespeare play called, ?The Winter?s Tale? to my Shakespeare class in my senior year of high school. First, I had to read the play. Then eventually I made a lesson plan from the novel. Once everything was prepared, I present the highlighted parts of the play to the entire class. As part of the assignment, I had to prepare a mock test for the students. However, the mock test was graded by the teacher. Lastly, I had to prepare an activity in which the other students had to participate. The activity I had selected was for a group of students to read two dialogues from the chosen play to express one of the themes of the play. Furthermore, we expressed feedback as a class about the two pieces of dialogue as well. The previous experience I had then was new and now with this new information on lesson planning I feel more confident on how to teach new students in English.
