This unit was like the activate stage of the TESOL units till now, for me...It has given me a more practical view on the ESA lesson components, lesson planning and most importantly I have once again seen how important classroom management is. More specifically what a huge influence and role the teachers attitude, gestures, intonations, the use of his/her voice and eye contact have on the effectiveness of a lesson.Having a friendly and relaxed manner build report. The power of just a simple smile during a lesson and respect towards your students. Just one prompt extra like a picture and using gesture and miming can have such a huge influence on the understanding of what you want to teach. This video lesson was me, actively looking and participating in finding the teachers aid/objectives and aims.The focus and context of the lesson. Anticipating problems for Teacher and students and finding solutions for them, I focused on the procedures and timing and the interaction between teacher and students. In video one it was almost as if the teacher was talking all the time. Important for me was to actually witness how the lesson plan in video 2 flows and more specifically the procedure of the study phase, demonstrate/elicit answers/give out worksheets. The importance of planning and being prepared with a positive attitude can make or break a lesson.
