It was really interesting to learn about the different tests, the variety covered in this unit is really great! I have only ever heard about TEFL, TOEFL and IELTS before so it was interesting to learn about the other options and their corresponding content! With such a range of tests designed to help students achieve an equally wide range of goals, it's useful to understand what each test can do for a student. In the future there will be so many chances to suggest a specific exam to a student, maybe my suggestion will offer a lot of help and hopefully get them on the right track to being able to do what they want, where they want (English wise). There were also quite a few internal tests that I had never heard of before, such as the diagnostic test. I personally have never seen one of these tests being done before but the practical use of such a test is obvious. I feel that continual short tests every so often would be the right choice as it focuses more on study and less time on students sat down quietly simply remembering information. It could be quite interesting to also add how tests vary depending on age groups, i.e. younger students might complete a IWB multi-choice exam that is more game centered while the other students complete a colouring activity. Older students on the other hand may complete a written test with no distractions etc.
