Teach English in Pingma Zhen - Baise Shi — Bose
From an observer's perspective, it's easier to see how a teacher can improve his/her lesson approach. Of course, the teacher's performance in Video 1 is ineffectively tough and difficult to watch, such that watching Video 2 was a relatively welcome change. But I also think it's important to appreciate that even in Video 2 the teacher's performance is not perfect (if such a thing exists). In the interest of always trying to be better, I should say that the teacher could have still done more in the second lesson to be more effective. Despite being positive, he moves too quickly through concepts through some concepts and too slowly through others. For example, I thought he spent an inordinate amount of time in the Engage phase, but that he didn't spend nearly enough time explaining the auxiliary verbs interaction with the vocabulary. At one point, a student even asks \"Cannot or Can't\"? and the teacher's reply, \"No, just can't\" isn't satisfying, in fact it was probably more confusing - I'm assuming that he didn't already cover conjunctions or else it wouldn't have been a problem for students later, in the activate phase, when they mixed up can and can't. I think the success of his exercise would have been increased if he assigned more of the vocabulary for homework and used more time in class to really solidify the grammatical bedrock of the exercise.
