This unit focuses on the evaluation of students. it deals with the different ways of evaluating students level and progress .There are different ways to assess a student?s language level. ? Tutorials ? evaluation by the students ? tests Test can be given at different stages in a course. Here are some of them. ? Placement test These tests are designed to help the teacher to place new students in to the correct class according to language ability. This type of test is usually in the form of multiples choice questions. ? Progress test. This type of tests is given periodically to gauge what language has been remembered or acquired and what has been forgotten .This type of tests covers reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as grammar and vocabulary that has been covered. ? Diagnostic test. This is similar in content to placement tests and are sometimes more extensive .This is given at the start of the course to see what the students already knows. ? Practice tests. it follows the format and the structure of external examination that they are being given in preparation . ? General external examinations. this types of examination includes , ?
