I think this unit is geared more toward teachers with no experience, anyone who?s spent time in the classroom knows most if not all the materials and equipment mentioned and has a basic working knowledge of how to operate them. Sure, there are some hints here and there, I found the fact that capitalized words are more difficult to read particularly helpful. I tend to write in caps in order for the students to see it better, I must change this immediately. However, like I mentioned anybody with experience in the classroom has used one or all of these materials listed and is aware of their pros and cons. Most teachers agree the board however is the most important. The board is the canvas for expression and capturing the lesson visually so the students can retain the information. While some classes may have all the bells and whistles, most classrooms overseas simply have a board. Without a board you and you?re lesson are naked. When using the board remain organize and steer clear of writing too much information, students will get lost in chaos and gibberish. Also, always have a lesson that can be accomplished with only a whiteboard, as all technology has a habit of failing the moment you begin class, even if you?ve tested it the day before. When it comes to technology make sure you?re trained, or you might not be using it to the full potential.
