The reading also indicates that when it comes to classroom management, teachers should consider other aspects such as classroom size, available space and furniture as determinants that can influence classroom environment and learning outcomes. Although there are many factors that teachers can?t control in their classrooms, (e.g., size, furniture, student personality etcetera), the reading suggests that teachers should contemplate learning outcomes in relation to the overall arrangement of classrooms and students. For example, if the aim is to increase student talk time, than the reading indicates that student paired and grouped activities are best suited for this outcome. However, the reading also suggests that teachers should not forget the fostering of student progress through individual work. The reading also suggests that student discipline issues should be kept minimal if teachers are well prepared to teach and if they have effective classroom management strategies.
