The lesson summarizes the need for evaluation of the students, why we evaluate them and how to do it in a right way. There are a couple of ways including tutorials, tests and external examinations. The test section is separated in some sections that correspond to the needs of the students. Placement tests for example evaluate the level of the student before starting his lessons. Students need to be given such test to make sure we teachers place them in the right group and they are able to advance from the right point in their language level. Other type of test is a progress test that is uses periodically for the purpose of evaluating the students gained knowledge. These tests will check how much the students have learned during their time in the course and will help the teacher to get a clear view on individual strengths and weaknesses. Another test is a practice test. Practice tests will practice a big external examination. These mock exams can cover many international examinations like IELTS, TOEFL, and various Cambridge examinations. The last section of the lesson gives some examples of international examinations and certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, PET, FCE, CAE and many more. All of them are suited for different reasons but generally these tests prepare a person to be able to work, study or travel in an English speaking country or abroad in general.
