I have never learned the phonetic alphabet before. So this chapter was a little more challenging for me because I also had to retrain my brain like the students from the video. They had a hard time with the symbol that looks like J. I had a hard time remembering that as well. I realize that pronunciation isn?t as easy as what we Americans thought. It should be an important part of every lesson that we teach in English. I also never thought about how we articulate words before. This gave me a fresh understanding of how we make the sounds we make. I also understand why that would be difficult for others to learn English.
