Unit fourteen discusses the advantages and disadvantages of different teaching materials. I learned more about to successfully use teaching materials, particularly in regard to tailoring materials to individual classes based on their language proficiency and interests. I found it helpful to know that one does not need to restrict oneself to a specific teaching material's content. It is encouraged for the teacher to omit material that may not be relative or helpful, to supplement materials to provide a richer lesson, etc. I found the exercises helpful in that they gave me ideas about how I can create my own teaching materials.
