This Unit 16 covers how to teach Conditionals and Reported Speech. Conditionals are sentences that contain \"if\" or \"when\" to express past, present, future possibilities. There are 5 kinds of conditionals. Zero: uses general truths, the \"if\" or '\"when\" clause verb tense in the simple present, who's main verb tense is in the simple present. The First Conditional: possible real situation in the future with the \"If\" simple present and the main clause in the simple future. The Second Conditional: are used in statements to refer to a hypothetical situations whose\"if\" clause is in the simple past and whose main clause verb tense is present conditional or present continuous conditional. The Third Conditional (Perfect Conditional): refer to a hypothetical past action (non-action), a conditional that cannot be satisfied and therefore an impossible consequence- AKA: an unreal past condition whose result is in past. Lastly, The Mixed Conditional: (typically harder to understand) combines the second and third conditional clauses- its hypothetical like the third conditional but referring to a present consequence.
