There are different methods and techniques that can be implemented into the English teaching process. Some of them are quite old-fashined,such as audio-lingualism. However, such methods as Communicative Language Teaching and Grammar-translation (in state schools) remain on the top of the list. Nevertheless, some definite conclusions regarding the vital details of English teaching can be drawn: exposure to language has to take place; stress and anxiety are to be low, etc. A lesson needs to be planned based on the ESA method. It presupposes three stages: 1)the Engage stage is the \"warmer\" which helps students relax and start using the language, it does not usually require the link with the main study topic and does not include corrections. 2)the Study stage consideres the language itself and the structures (grammar, pronunciation, spelling, etc), it requires some corrections, that can be given in different forms depending on the task. 3) the Active stage allows to use any language students know and can produce, the focus is on fluency rather than accuracy, so corrections are considered alongside with Feedback.
