This unit covered Teaching Materials. First, this unit explained that materials fall under the categories of Authentic and Non-authentic. Authentic materials are materials that are not created for the purpose of teaching, however, Non-authentic materials are created specifically for teaching. Second, this unit explained the necessity of lesson planning. Lesson plans are a basic outline for a lesson but must be flexible and open to change as issues arise in the classroom. Third, this unit explained resources that are important for teachers. Two common resources are course books and the internet. Fourth, this unit explained the basic results of classroom management. There are three main ways to manage a classroom, rigid management, very little teacher control management, and controlled active management. In conclusion, I have learned that although the styles of classroom management are very different from each other students learn through all of them. I have also learned that all teachers will face discipline in a classroom but that there are many different ways to resolve and prevent the problems a teacher faces.
