The tense system: The Future tenses consist of seven tenses such as: the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going+ infinitive, the present simple, and the present continuous. The uses for future simple are promises, predictions, assumptions, spontaneous decisions, and treats. Future continuous uses are: To say something will be in progress at particular time in the future, to predict the present and make a guess, for polite enquires referring to other people's plans, to refer to future events which are fixed. The future perfect tense is used to say something will have been completed at a certain time in the future. Future perfect continuous is used to say how long something will have continued by a certain time. Going to the future uses are intensions, predictions based on present evidence, and plans or decisions made before speaking. Teaching these concepts will need to be carefully explained to the students this topic is complex and can get confusing. It is vital that the teacher is patient and uses creative ways to keep the students interested in this topic.
