The two videos in this unit were helpful because I had a chance to compare between an effective lesson and an ineffective lesson in terms of how they are conducted. The relationship between the teacher and the students was clearly visible in terms of how the teacher's behaviour positively affected the students' behaviour in the second video and how it negatively affected the student's in the first video. Watsching a video of a lesson taking place in a classroom has made it easier for me to identify how the different phases are applied and be able to differentiate between the phases when they are linked to lead to the following phase. The students have proved to be interested in the example videos that have been used, though they are confused in the first video, they are still keen to participate, trying to overcome the teacher's hostility. This has built a level of confidence in me as an inexperienced teacher because I have seen and understood the contrast between an effective and ineffective lesson which is the bases in achieving the intended goal i.e. make sure that students learn English in a clear and proper way.
