Unit 6 covered past tenses. The 4 past tenses are: 1. Past simple: \"verb +ed\". However, some irregular past tense verbs must be memorized. Simple past is used for a completed past action with a specific time/date, for answering time-related questions, and for actions that happened at a specific time (even though the time might not be mentioned). 2. Past continuous: \"was/were + verb-ing\". It is used for past actions that are incomplete or interrupted, developing situations that happened in the past, continuous actions that may have been completed or continued on afterwards, and for descriptions. 3. Past perfect: \"had +past participle\". It is used for actions that were completed before other/another action(s). 4. Past perfect continuous: \"had +been +verb-ing\". This tense isn't as common as the others, but it is sometimes used to describe events that had been going on continuously up until a past point in time that the speaker had been thinking about. In conclusion, unit 6 provided essential information about the four past tenses, along with common student errors, and sample teaching ideas to practice each tense.
