In this unit I learnt the differences between a good lesson and a bad lesson. I learnt that the attitude and the teacher has when he enters the classroom and teaches the lesson will have a dramatic effect on how well the class goes at the tasks ahead. In the first lesson he was angry frustrated and just wanted to complete the lesson, in this case the students felt disheartened and nervous and did not participate well. However in the second lesson he was smiling friendly asked and tried to remember everyone's names and get them all involved, this encouraged all the students to participate. He also praised the students when they got things right and encouraged them by telling them that it was almost right rather than outright saying no. The final bit I learnt was that teachers have to be just as engaged in their lesson as the students. In the first lesson he read a book and basically ignored the students when they were doing their worksheets. However in the second one he was walking around looking at what they were doing so afterwards he could draw on any problems and difficulties they may have had with the tasks.
